Helsingborgs IF closed the gap on the league leaders on Sunday as they overcame a first-half goal on the road to defeat Djurgardens 2-1. Isaac Chansa‘s second career strike for the club equalized in the 77th minute as HIF made full use of their man advantage with Andreas Landgren scoring the winner in the 86th minute.
Chansa was in an unfamiliar spot on the pitch, standing in the middle of the offensive box, when he was left wide-open by the DIF defense, who were playing an unsuccessful offside trap.
With the ball at his feet, and only the goalkeeper in his way, he calmly curled the ball to the right-side of the net. Less then 10 minutes later, Chansa’s magic in the midfield orchestrated the winner, his precision pass to Congolese teammate Rene Makondele was subsequently followed up by a little through ball to Landgren who buried a low-shot past a helpless goalkeeper from the top of the box. A mere minutes later, Chansa was at it again, this time with a cross to the back-post, which was hit on the second touch by Makondele past the goalkeeper, but hit the woodwork and stayed out. Helsingborgs drew level for second place with the victory, only 4 points behind league leaders Kalmar FF, one game past the midway point of the season.
In other Allsvenskan action, Edwin Phiri‘s Ljungskile lost 1-0 to AIK Solna. However Phiri has not played in the past two games for his club since being subbed off in a 3-1 loss to GAIS Goteborg two weeks ago, despite the teams tactical change to play with a 5-man defensive unit, one more then throughout the previous game all season. Ljungskile are currently in 14th place, which would put them in a play-off for relegation would the season end today.
Finland

To the East, in Veikkausliiga action, RoPS played two matches in the past week. Last Monday, Chileshe Chibwe covered for the injured Nchimunya Mweetwa as his first-half brace led RoPS to a 4-0 over KuPS. This past weekend their fire-power cooled off as they were held 0-0 to league-leaders Inter Turku at home. Chanda Mwaba and Zeddy Saileti were also featuring in the starting XI for the Rovaniemen squad, with Mwaba picking up a yellow card in the 11th minute.
Second division Ykkonen leaders AC Oulu played two matches this week as well. A 1-1 draw on Thursday at home to TP 47, and another 1-1 draw, this time at KPV Kokkola, with Dominic Yobe equalizing with an 87th minute penalty. Brother Donewell Yobe was also involved in the match as a 75th minute substitution. Both brothers started during the midweek match. AC Oulu maintain their lead in the push for promotion back into the first division on goal differential with 28 points, one game past the midway point of the season.

Brondby continue their winning ways, and have the early lead in the Superligaen table, the only team with two wins in the first two matchdays. A 2-1 victory, led by two goals from Max von Schlebrugge, gave Brondby the victory. Chris Katongo for the third game in a row (in all competitions) was unable to register on the scoresheet in 90 minutes of play. In the 52nd minute, Tsunami almost set-up goal, as he broke down the left-wing with blistering pace and ran onto an open ball, his low cross into the box was struck with a hard shot, but into the arms of the ‘keeper. Brondby continue their UEFA Cup quest in the mid-week in the Faroe Islands as they go into the second leg against B36 Torshavn with a 1-0 advantage.

Keep it up Zet .dot. I wish you guys in dispora can organise sponsorship for these guys to be editing their stories which do not make good reading. By the ways the one feeding us with this information is a Mass communication nstudent at UNZA, he badly needs funding for the site to improve. Katongo is leaving Brondy for a German Club. Am not for the idea. The moment he leaves, Brondy would struggle.
