Sinkala Signs for Germany Bundesliga 2 Side

July 17, 2008

Zambianfootball.net understands and can reveal that International midfielder Andrew Sinkala has signed a one year contract with Germany Bundesliga 2 side FC Augsburg.

Sinkala has been on trial and is believed to have impressed the Augsburg management and technical bench but more importantly the fans.

According to the club website;www.fcaugsburg.de the former Nchanga Rangers midfielder signed his contract today.

“Andrew Sinkala convinced us with the training units as well as the test plays. We know that he has large potential and we are pleased that we reached agreement at short notice ” said FC Augsburg managing director Andreas Rettig.

Sinkala was voted by the fans as one of Augsburg best performers in a 4-1 loss to Germany giants VfB Stuttgart in a friendly on Tuesday. Sinkala played the second half of the match.

With Sinkala finally signing and now settled this should be a boast to the Chipolopolo Boys as they lack an experienced holding midfielder.

Sinkala was released at the end of last season by demoted Bundesliga 2 side SC Paderborn 07 at the end of last season.

I think its a cool move for Andy. He was out most of last season, this will help him prove his worth. Good luck to him

This is an excellent move, I think this boy has reached another level of professionalism. To be out and get almost no game time for such a long spell and yet come and get voted as one of the best performers in a trial match is something else. The consistency with wich this boy and Big Mo have been in the German league is a big plus to their careers. The only thing that sadens me is how underated they are in their own country.

I agree with BIG STEVE,Andy &Moze should be players we should be proud of.To play in Germany consistently for 9yrs is not a mean achivement.Moze even captained a team in the Bundesliga(the only Zambian).Lets give them the recognition they deserve.Big up Andy.See u in the Togo game

It’s indeed a good move for him.I know by now he is adapted to the environment and the type of football in Germany. This guy is also needed in our current team.I know him just from rangers and I once played with him.Let our staffs give him chance.Because the team lacks his skills.Good lack dear and may God bless u.Am also looking forward to hear about his young brothers such us Kelvin,Melvin and linos

Andrew sinkala is one of the best midfielders that zambia has ever produced. This explains why even after being out of active football ,he is able to find a team in germany.I would like call on the zambian technical bench to consider recalling sinkala. He would help as with the problems we are facing in the midefield.

We definitely need the services of Sinkala once he settles down at his new club.
Him finding another club is good news for us. Let the new coach have a look at him. He is the right person for our engineroom esp against Togo in September.
