Sunzu eye Belgium Side, Mayuka heading to Porto-The Post

ZAMBIA national soccer team striker Felix Sunzu Jr says he is not staying at Konkola Blades but heading to Europe to join an unnamed Belgium team.

“I am not staying at Konkola (Blades) and will play just five games for them before I go to join a club in Belgium,” he said.

Sunzu is currently in camp with the Zambia national team in Lusaka, preparing for Chipolopolo’s 2008 COSAFA Senior Challenge Cup quarterfinal game against Zimbabwe on July 27 in Secunda, South Africa.

The Blades striker returned home last month after a brief stay at Tunisian side Avenir Sportif de La Marsa.
“My contract with my Tunisian club is over and I am back at Blades briefly and will play for them in five games while my agent is finalising my move to Belgium,” he said

Meanwhile Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) media officer Erick Mwanza said in an interview that Mayuka will not be drafted into the senior team due to a trial obligation at FC Porto in Portugal.

“Mayuka leaves for Porto on July 15 and we have decided not to name him to the team because we are not sure how long he will be there and whether he will join them on a pre-season training camp,” said Mwanza.

“Mayuka will fly to Portugal on Tuesday (Tomorrow) via Johannesburg after coming from Mauritius with the Under-20 team,” he said.
Mayuka has been left out of the team for the same reason that Stophira Sunzu and Roger Kola were left.”

Egypt beatable, says ‘Mourinho’- Zambia Daily Mail
UNDER-20 coach Osward “Mourinho” Mutapa Junior says Zambia will go for Egypt’s jugular in the final round of the 2009 Rwanda Africa Youth Championship qualifier in September.

“We have beaten them before and we have the ability to continue beating them. Remember, we beat them 3-0 at the Africa Youth Championship in Congo Brazzaville last year.

“Egypt is a beatable team and we do not fear them,” he said.

Mutapa said they would prepare adequately for the clash against Egypt.

“We need two or three friendly games for us to be ready. The game against Egypt will be tough,” he said.
Mutapa said he might reinforce the team for the game against Egypt.

We definitely need the services of Sinkala once he settles down at his new club.
Him finding another club is good news for us. Let the new coach have a look at him. He is the right person for our engineroom esp against Togo in September.
