There was mixed blessings for Cameroon striker Pierre Webo who put Mallorca in the lead after 11 minutes in the game against Racing Santander.But Webo was sent-off 11 minutes later, and Santander made the most of their numerical advantage to win 3-1 even though they also had a player sent off later in the game.Webo’s compatriot Samuel Eto’o returned to action for Barcelona for the first time since suffering a knee injury four months ago. He was substituted in the second-half of his club’s 2-1 win at home to Deportivo La Coruna.
France
Ivorians scored two of the four goals when Le Mans defeated Lens 3-1. Gervais Yao Kouassi was on the winning side when he scored to put Le Mans back in the lead in the 50th minute. Fellow countryman Aruna Dindane had earlier equalised for Lens. Another Ivorian Bakari Kone ensured that his side Nice finished the game against Bordeaux at with a point.
He scored the opening goal in the 1-1 draw. The Guinea striker Pascal Feindouno sealed victory for St Etienne when he fired home with practically the last kick of the game to make it 2-0 against Metz.
Holland
Ghana striker Matthew Amoah was on target again for the second successive weekend. He scored the second in NAC Breda’s 3-0 win over Excelsior Rotterdam. His fellow Ghanaian Kwame Quansah sealed the victory for Heracles Almelo with a strike on 66 minutes to secure a 2-0 win over De Graafschap.
Belgium
Congo striker Patiyo Tambwe scored two goals for his side Lokeren but they still ended up losing lost 4-2 to Gent. Zimbabwe’s Honour Gombami gave Cercles Bruges a 25th minute lead as his side dismissed Mouscron 3-0. Also on the winning side was Nigeria’s Tosin Dosunmu who put Germinal Beerschot in the ahead after 69 minutes as his side beat Mons Bergen 2-0. In-form Rwanda striker Henri Munyaneza equalised for Dender in the 72nd minute as they came from a goal down to beat Zulte-Waregem 2-1. Mahamadou Dissa gave Roulers a 5th minute lead but the Malian’s club conceded two late goals to lose 2-1. South Africa’s Asanda Sishuba was part of the famous 4-3 win for St Truiden over champions Anderlecht. Two of Anderlecht’s goals were scored by the Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Hassan.
Germany
There was no African goal to report but Duisburg’s Cameroonian striker Mahamadou Idrissou was in the news.
He was shown the red card for attacking an opponent with 10 minutes remaining in the game against Bayern Munich.
