William njovu was born on 4th March 1987 in Lusaka. He is a product of two of most successful youth teams in the country; Chiparamba academy and Edusport, both of them based in Lusaka. The midfielder started his career at the former before being sighed by a premier league side Lusaka Dynamos where his has being playing since the 2006 season.
Njovu was part of the class of 2007 under –20 which included Emmanuel Mayuka, Fwayo Tembo, Rogers Kola, Clifford Mulenga and Stophira Sunzu that came out fourth at the African Youth Cup in Congo and the squad that reached the last 16 at Canada 2007 World Youth Cup. He scored Zambia’s first goal against the Gerald Pique’s Spain. The self confessed Arsenal fan has been compared to Ghanaian Micheal Essien as he is also a combative midfielder.
The Lusaka born is versatile, as he has featured in a number positions including centre back, fullback and right wing midfield apart from his favoured attacking midfield.
Njovu has been capped once at international level and he scored on his debut match against Mozambique and he was unused substitute in the final of the COSAFA Castle Cup final against South Africa on 24th October 2007. He was also drafted into the under-23 squad that failed to qualify for Beijing 2008 Olympics.
